Training and experience are the most important considerations when choosing a locksmith because your locksmith must be familiar with not only the old school brass, single or double sided keys, but with an assortment of high security keys.
Almost all newer cars have keys with a transponder embedded in the head, usually referred to as a “chip.”
Transponder keys are specially designed to provide a higher level of security by placing a signal emitting circuit inside the key. This circuit is activated when it receives a signal from the computer in your vehicle, which is known as the ECU, or electronic control unit. Communication between these two components is required to start the vehicle, and will result in failure to start if they are improperly configured. This technology greatly increases the security of your vehicle’s ignition, but if this new generation of keys are not programmed correctly your vehicle will not start. Nor can it be started by any other means.
At Pioneer Locksmith and Key company we do automotive, residential and commercial keys, high security keys, re-key and installation of *most locks. This means we can get you down to a far more manageable set of keys quickly, and at a fair price.
Hi! I have a problem, you've described. Obviously, my key isn't programmed correctly. And it makes me very mad, that I have a car, but can't use it. How much it will be to fix it? It's a shame that I'm not in my Tallahassee now! I have a good discount at Locksmith Florida http://locksmithfllocksmith.com/ .
